Chris Frye

Chris Frye joined 19 News in August 2019, after nearly 15 years in the business as a Sportscaster and News Anchor.

Born in rural Arkansas, Chris always had a passion for being in front of the camera. He developed a love for weather, hoping one day to be a meteorologist. Instead of chasing tornadoes, Chris turned to sports.

Chris graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in 2001 with a B.A. in Mass Communication/Journalism. Chris is a proud member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity Inc., where he served as chapter president, state president, and advisor.

Chris began his TV career as a production assistant at a station in Little Rock in 2004. In April 2005, he was hired for his first on-camera position as a Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter in Rockford, Illinois. After Rockford, Chris made stops in Alabama, Kansas and in Fayetteville, Arkansas. It was in Fayetteville where Chris made the transition from sports to news in October 2014 as Morning Anchor.

Chris enjoys going to church, working out, meeting new people and spending time with his wife, Natasha and their four children: Harrison, Hayden, Harlow and Huntley.
