Samantha Roberts

Meteorologist
Samantha Roberts

Samantha Roberts (who goes by Sam) has been forecasting the weather in Cleveland since the Fall of 2015.

From tornadoes and heat waves to snow and high winds, northeast Ohio has no shortage of active weather.

Samantha loves the challenge of putting together a lake effect snow forecast on a cold Winter afternoon.

While Summer is her season of choice, lake effect snow forecasting is her favorite meteorological duty.

Before she was a meteorologist at WOIO, Samantha worked at our sister station, WWBT, in Richmond, Virginia.

She has also worked as a meteorologist (with occasional sports desk duties) in Alabama and Georgia.

Samantha attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville (Go Vols!), where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Electronic Media with an emphasis on Sports Broadcasting.

After graduation, she received her Certificate of Broadcast and Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University.

Samantha usually has a book in her hands, but if she doesn't, she's either running or riding the spin bike.

She loves to spend time with her beloved Boston Terriers, Doppler and Dewey, and her husband, Greg.

She's very passionate about weather but equally as passionate about University of Tennessee football.

You can catch Samantha's forecast on Cleveland 19 News at 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and on WUAB at 7:30 p.m.

Samantha also serves at the meteorologist for WTCL Telemundo Cleveland.
