Brittany Wier joined WOIO 19 News as a reporter in August of 2023.
Brittany is a native of Philadelphia (Go Birds!) and attended Millersville University in Pennsylvania.
She has always had a passion for journalism and dreamed about being a reporter and sharing other people’s stories.
Prior to joining 19 News, Brittany was a morning reporter for WSLS 10 News in Roanoke, Virginia. During her time there, she covered severe weather and tornado’s that damaged several communities, the shooting at UVA, Governor Youngkin’s election, and a number of community events.
Brittany also reported and anchored at WVNY/WFFF in Burlington, Vermont and WHVL in State College, Pennsylvania.
When she is not in the newsroom, Brittany loves hanging out with her little dog Mabel, trying new restaurants, watching sports, and spending time with her big Italian family and friends.

The Ohio School Bus Safety Working Group met in person on Thursday in Columbus. The focus of the meeting was on seat belts on school buses and if they are a good idea.Avon Lake’s Superintendent, Joelle Magyar, was the featured speaker at the meeting. She spoke about her district’s experience testing out tow buses that have seatbelts on them.

It is a reoccurring problem in the City of Cleveland Heights. Cars crashing at the intersection of Fairmount Blvd. and Taylor Street. Most of these crashes ending up with a car in the front yard or in the home of John Gall’s home.

Early Monday morning, a woman called Cleveland Police saying her car had been stolen. She quickly told officers that she activated her OnStar features in her SUV. This quick thinking, helped police track down the vehicle and stop it before they even arrived on scene.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Niss Athletic Center at Ashland University.
A community is mourning the loss of a Mapleton High School student who collapsed and died at homecoming. On Monday, a memorial was set up in the parking lot of the school for Breanna McKean.

Former Football Coach for Brooklyn High School, Tim McFarland says he was forced to resign after controversy at Friday’s football game against Beachwood. Beachwood Schools said Brooklyn’s coaches were calling a line play where they called “Nazi” to alert players of a blitz. It was also alleged that Brooklyn players used racial slurs during the game.
