2 shot, 1 killed in Mansfield, police say

RICHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - One person is dead and another hospitalized after a shooting Tuesday evening in Mansfield.

Police said the double shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. in the 800 block of Brookfield Dr.

Numerous people called 911 reporting shots fired and a person down in the hallway, police said.

When officers arrived, they said they found both gunshot victims and transported them to the hospital, where one was pronounced dead.

The victim’s names have not been released.

“We are asking for the help of the community in identifying the subjects in this Incident,” stated Mansfield Police Lt. Robert Skropits.

Lt. Skropits added he does not believe there is any danger to the community related to this incident.
